Introduction to English for All: A Multimedia System for Adults Seeking to Learn English as a Second Language

Use this multimedia ESL series—videos, print materials, CD-ROMs, and online instruction—to provide English lessons in classroom and distance learning modalities. In this workshop, you will view a video episode, create activities using print materials, and gain hands-on experience navigating the basic elements of the EFA Web site.

Goals

The goals of this session are to foster an awareness of the EFA Multimedia System and to facilitate participants’ use of its various components.

Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Identify the primary audiences for video and print materials;
• Identify the primary developers of the multimedia system; and
• Identify the course materials and teacher resource materials available on the multimedia system;
• Identify the components in each episode;
• Select appropriate instructional activities for using the materials with students; and
• Access EFA online resources.
