Goal

The goal of this workshop is to develop skills in planning and implementing ESL Staff Development.

Objectives

On completion of the module you will be able to:

1. Recognize a new definition of staff development.
2. Identify the key components of effective staff development.
3. Recognize four staff development models.
4. Identify strategies in four areas key to implementing a staff development plan:
   • Determining staff development needs and goals.
   • Identifying activities necessary to accomplish the goal.
   • Identifying support necessary to implement the plan.
   • Identifying steps in evaluating the plan
