What do you need to participate in the Moodle online course?
- An active e-mail address
- An Internet connection
- Internet Browser ? Mozilla Firefox
- Microsoft Word / Microsoft Word Viewer
- Adobe Reader
- QuickTime Player
- Flash Player
Connecting to Moodle
In order to access an online course on Moodle, you must log in.
- The Web site address to log in to Moodle is http://moodle.calpro-online.org
- Login page will appear like the image below
- To login, enter your username and password

How to Enroll in a CALPRO Moodle Course
- Go to http://calpro-online.org/onlinecourseschedule.asp
- Click on the "register" link and fill out the form to register
- Facilitated Courses - CALPRO e-mails Moodle accounts and course access instructions to registrants one week before the course start date.
- Self-Paced Courses - CALPRO e-mails Moodle accounts and course access instructions to registrants within three business days of registering.
Download Required Software
If you do not have the required software to view some of the documents and files in the course, please download them.

For your optimum experience in Moodle, CALPRO
strongly recommends that all users access the site using the Firefox
browser. This has been a proven maximum compatibility browser over Internet Explorer.
This download only takes a couple of minutes and should be done prior to log in.

If you do not have Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint installed on your computer,
you will need a viewer to be able to open Word files or PowerPoint files. These
downloads will enable you to open and view files which were created in Microsoft
Word or Microsoft PowerPoint. Please follow the download and installation instructions
on Microsoft's download page.

This plug-in will enable you to view Portable Document Format (PDF) documents. The

This plug-in will enable you to play audio and video files which require QuickTime.

How to Use Moodle
The Moodle Environment
- Course content is organized into a weekly outline.
- All content will be revealed on a weekly basis.
- Each week belongs in a separate block of content in the Moodle course.
- Course tools are available on the left and right of the main course contents.
- The tools available to participants are
- People: Click on the Participants link to see a list of individuals participating in the course.
- Online Users: Displays who is online at the moment.
- Messages: Displays if you have messages waiting. Click on "Messages..." to send a message to someone in the course.
- Upcoming Events: Displays upcoming calendar events.
- Latest News: Displays any course announcements posted.
- Grades: Shows progress and teacher comments.
- Profile: Customize your user identity for networking and collaboration!
- The tools available to participants are
Viewing Course Contents and Opening Links
- The weekly outline contains the course content.
- The course content consists of text and links.
- There are links to Microsoft Word documents, Adobe PDF documents, new windows, and videos.
- To open and view the contents of a link, you must click on the title of the link.
Participating in Discussion Forums
- To participate in Discussion Forums, click on the available forum links in the weekly outline.
- To post your message to the forum of choice, click on the "Reply" link.
- Type your message and click on the "Post to Forum" button at the bottom of the reply screen.
- To attach a file to your posting, you may click on the "Browse" button to locate and attach the desired file.
- CALPRO recommends logging into your course more than once a week to participate in discussions to gain the most out of your peer interaction!
